  • Inspired by his adolescence growing up in Missoula, playwright Diego Kjelland is  proud to bring you his new play “My Generation”. A modern tale with a flavorful twist of  hip hop, this contemporary piece tackles many difficult topics in a way that is truthful  to life.

  • “My Generation” is set in a small American town, where four recent high school graduates navigate the challenges of life in the real world. Vince and Pete explore their friendship, reflecting on past mistakes and their hopes for the future, using hip-hop and spoken word to express their journey. Vanessa, shaken by her past, is encouraged by Pete and her friend Angie to confront the traumatic events of a night with Vince. In an effort to bring them closer, Vanessa attempts to play matchmaker by setting up Angie and Pete.

Meanwhile, Vince, still entrenched in his drug-dealing lifestyle, is jumped and robbed in the park. Desperate to fix everything in one final night, he never gets the chance. In the end, it’s his friends who are left to piece everything back together.

The show delves into sensitive topics, including sexual assault, drug and alcohol use, and explicit language.
